7 year old Rohan did some busking outside King's Place by playing the drums! He raised $242.50 for the Fredericton Food Bank and even received some invites to future gigs!
The video can be seen here.
Thank you so much Rohan!
The 2019 gardening season will soon be upon us! We have a large number of community members who have already signed up for plots here but we have more to offer!
We've put together a quick survey as to possible topics for gardening classes here. If you're interested in learning more please take a few minutes to fill this out and let us know what topics and when.
Looking for something to do with the kids on March Break? Chef Yves has two family cooking classes schedule. March 4th at noon and March 9th at noon. If you're interested in coming in then please email Chef so he knows who to expect and can be sure there are enough ingredients for everyone.
What do most kids do on a snow day? Not Rachel and Cara who went around their neighborhood to collect food for the Foodbank and brought in 3 big bags full!! Thank you so much!
Yes we know there's still snow on the ground. Yes we know that it's still cold outside. However we also know that Spring is right around the corner and with that comes gardening season!
We have both community garden beds as well as our own growing space for clients so we can provide fresh from the garden produce from May through to November!
We will be calling last year's gardeners shortly and then will be taking applications for any remaining beds with priority going to Greener Village clients.
Some important things coming up - sign up for the 2019 Community Gardens, our annual worker bee day to get the yard work done and the 2019 Community Tax Program is about to start.
We have had a number of donors who brought us the $25 gift card from Loblaws from the bread price-fixing issue. This is what we turned those cards into!! All of this was purchased solely with those cards!!
Thank you all so much!!
Due to generous donations that have come in through December and into January we're currently unable to accept clothing donations. Our volunteers need the time and space to sort everything that has come in already.
We'll be resuming accepting clothing donations in February. Thank you for your generosity!!
Twice a month Chef Yves puts on a collective kitchen. This is a hands on cooking experience and at the end you get to go home with 6-8 portions of what was made!
