tarting Seeds! and 20 Easiest Vegetables to Grow – attendance for prospective gardeners in our community gardens is highly encouraged. Some free seed and a digital booklet on the 20 easiest vegetables to grow together with recipes for each type of vegetable from Chef Lisa are available at these workshops.  Our resident gardener Alison will help you work through how to grow and how to best use your space.

Composting and Natural Fertilizers – tips and tricks on how to enrich your soil inexpensively, using waste products such as coffee grounds and kitchen scraps. Alison leads this workshop with many years of knowledge under her belt.

Pollinators – Brandi will lead you through butterflies, bees and other winged pollinators, and what plants and flowers to grow to help bring them to your garden!

Worker-Bee Day – this is when we get together to open up and air the gardens so that they are ready for the people for June 1st. There are two lunch and learns during the day:  11.30 “Optimize your veg growing – hints and tips “and at 12.00 noon “Composting 101”.

Transplanting– in this hands on workshop, we will teach you the tips and tricks to transplant your new vegetable seedlings so that they settle in and grow quickly.  Alison leads this!
